(Excerpt from “21 Day Prayer Challenge for Passionate Educators”
by Dr. Stephanie A. Harper)
“The tongue can bring death or life.”
Proverbs 18:21a
“This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.”
Romans 4:17b
“This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.”
2 Timothy 1:6
Passionate educators understand that every person (young or old) is created in the image of God. God has placed in every individual a specific gift or calling that is to be fulfilled while on this earth. As passionate educators, it is important to see that gift in your students and stir it up, fan it into flames. This truth instructs you to teach to the students’ strengths and abilities, not their disabilities. When you students or colleagues are not rising to their great potentials, resurrect those potentials by speaking life.
Prayer:
Awesome Father, you are the one who brings the dead back to life. You, mighty God, have the power to create new things out of nothing. Today, I stir up the gifts that you have placed in my students. I stir up the gift of teaching that you have given to my colleagues. New and innovative ideas and strategies shall manifest in my classroom and school. Every educational institution my sphere shall become new. Thank you, Father, for transforming the educational system. In Jesus’ name, amen.
